What RBI is to me
To us RBI is a place to connect with people who have similar interests as we do. Through RBI we have made many long lasting friendships. Here we have also experienced many things we might not have experienced anywhere else. Some of the great experiences that we had were going to camp, doing community service, programming, and working readiness. While in RBI we were able to go to camp and do group bonding activities like high ropes courses and fun stuff like rock climbing. We were also part of a program in the summer called Care and Connect. We worked on beautifying the community through several different activities and also read books and colored with kids who were in the hospital. This summer we also ran activities for younger kids and learned a lot about being mentors.
In programming we are able to do many different things like internet magazine and spoken word to name a few. We also learned about what you need to be able to get a job. Everyone in RBI who is in the high school program knows how to write a resume and cover letter. We also know how to interview and answer the really tough questions asked by employers.
The staff and people here are like our second family. They are caring and always there when you need someone to support you. It means a lot to know we can come to a place where everyone welcomes you with open arms.

CIT in Real Kids

Working with the Real Kids after school is good. There are a few reasons why I'm saying Real Kids after school is good to work with. The reason why Real Kids is good because I know half of them. The reason why is because Harlem RBI summer CIT's with the Real Kids summer program.
The other reason why I say its good working with the Real kids after school is because the kids look up to me! The reason they look up to me is because I'm near there age and I can teach them or help them with baseball/softball skills. These are a few reasons why i think its good to work with the Real Kids after school because they look up to me and they are close to my age and I can help them with any needs they have.

My expeirence with the kids

My experience with the Real kids was new to me but fun. The kids were very silly , the things they would say were so hilarious. One little girl told me some funny knock knock jokes. I was also laughing because i made a mistake . I threw the ball without being told to throw it. One kid said hey ms.champagne no throwing the ball.
I thought my experience was fun because i was throwing a teaching children who didn't know how to play and catch. I showed one girl how to throw a ball across the room to her partner. I helped another girl boost her confidence by not giving up until she got it right. This is why I like CIT.

What I selected to do during my 1st semester in Harlem RBI was to work in C.I.T.
C.I.T is when a group of teens work with 9 and 10 year olds, what we do is help them with there baseball/softball skills and fundamentals.
We work once a week and sometimes we have life skills on a random week. When we are told to go to the school we have to work with the Real Kids. The kids push your buttons to find your week spots, yet you can't let them get in your head or they will try to take advantage of you. The first thing we do when we get there is we start with some warm-ups, then get to the full activity. We give them easy task to complete, since they are little kids. We couldn't give the task we usually do since it would be too complicated for them so we tried something new. Then, we go over fundamentals that they should know. After that we run drills to see what they have learned. Sometime we run competitions and the winner gets points or runs which they call them.

When they get hurt,I know your not suppose to laugh. I laugh anyways when I see them laugh I know they're okay. When they cry, I know its serious so ill stop laughing. At times the kids act really sarcastic so you have to take your time and make sure you don't argue with them because then it will get out of hand. They will think you are playing with them, so you have to be serious and let them know you're being serious.

I was first introduced to RBI by many friends who went there from my school Manhattan center for science and math. I enjoyed playing sports for fun so why not join a team in RBI? RBI has many benefits that would both make a kid and a parent happy. RBI has activities such as softball and baseball so kids who love sports would enjoy it here. Parents should be happy to know that kids also learn in RBI programming. RBI also gives many opportunities to kids such as internships,experience, and trips out of the country.
Since I am new here, I don't know many other kids here. But so far everyone is friendly and nice. RBI is a wonderful program that provides many wonderful programs benefits and opportunities. For example, people can have the chance to go to France with exceptional grades and attendance. Not everyone can have the chance to go to Paris, so that is really exciting.

Rivalry in The Hip-Hop Industry
After many years of threats and altercations, Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane end the feud between the two. Gucci Mane is going to prison for one year not because of the feud, but due to probation violations. The rivalry between the two rappers began late 2005, about the record named "Icey". In conclusion Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy ended their feud during a long conversation over the phone.

Mount Vs. Cardinal Hayes
On November 26 Mount St Micheal will be facing Cardinal Hayes in the Turkey Bowl/Championship. Mount St Micheal has surprisingly been on a long losing streak but was able to win enough games to wind up in the playoffs. Quarter Back Jaylen Amaker is trying to continue the Mount St. Micheal's winning streak against Quarter Back Quamaine for Hayes. Gary Aiquah is trying to take a championship for his senior year but the Great Hayes defensive line is trying to stop him. College bound Jermiah Cubena is also a senior who is competing for the New York State title from Cardinal Hayes. No one knows who will be the victor of the showdown but I think Cardinal Hayes should win because all the aspects of their game is better than Mount St Micheal's. Mount St Micheal's has a very bad o' Line that gets their Quarter back sacked often. When they play Hayes they both need to tighten up their defense because both teams running backs are good. Mount has surprisingly come from 1-4 records to reaching the Championship game against Hayes should prove to be a very interesting game.
